“How did you know you were psychic?” I get asked that a lot, and I always think it’s kind of funny, because isn’t it a self-answering question? But the truth is that I actually did not know I was psychic for a long time. I did, but I didn’t. Let me explain.
I don’t see dead people all the time. But, if I pay attention, I can feel spirits around me most of the time. You see, I spent most of my life ignoring my gifts. When I was a child, and I told my mom that I felt like I was being watched, that I had a feeling that other, unseen people were in my room, she praised my “wonderful imagination.”
I’m glad she treated it that way, instead of condemning it, but it never occurred to me that I was gifted in any way. I grew up believing that all creative people felt “unseens” around them, and frequently had pictures of unfamiliar faces pop into their heads. It wasn’t until I was in my early 40′s that I figured out what that was!
I also had spontaneous out-of-body experiences starting when I was in my early teens. It wasn’t until I read that famous medium John Edward had the same experience that I understood it foretold my gifts as a psychic.
I’ve had some very bold premonitions, like those of my husband’s death and September 11, but, except when I am doing readings, most of my days are probably a lot like most of yours. Maybe I’m more accustomed to receiving “messages from the Cosmos,” but it doesn’t mean you aren’t getting them aimed at your head too!
If I pay attention, I can tune into almost anything I want. I’ve learned to “home in” or “tune the radio” and pick up the signals. I can look at a stranger–or think about one–and I’ll “see” his/her energy, any health problems in the body, past and future events, and/or spirits of his/her late loved ones.
This is how I work over the phone–I just tune into the person I am reading for. If you ever see me working live, you’ll notice me looking at the floor or a blank wall. This is so I can better “see” what’s in my mind’s eye without the distractions of faces and pictures.
I do almost always feel energies around me. Especially over my right shoulder. This is a guide or a group of energies that follow and steer me. And it’s quite comfortable for me to have that feeling.

I have been meaning to ask you that very question! Thank you for sharing Susan. It is interesting that you feel energies over your right shoulder because lately I am finding energies over my right shoulder also, but especially over my right ear. Maybe they are trying to whisper in my ear??? I think it is time to join your Protege Program!!
I’m so glad that you identified with this, Nicole! I’m sure you’re not alone. Ha! No pun intended! I have also felt energies over my left shoulder periodically, and after some research, it seems that those are usually earth-bound spirits, more commonly called “ghosts”. This is the way that info and energy come to me and appear in my experience. Other sensitives and intuitives will experience them differently, or may feel similarly, like you do.

My girlfriend tells me she sees spirits since she was a young girl . But she has learned to ignore it …she thinks she is also crazy sometime she has only told a few people ..at night she can’t sleep …I want her to rest more ….she has been told she has a gift by random strangers that look into her eyes …she doesn’t know what to do what do you think ? And how can she be more at ease with her self ?
Well, generally, if you carry that gift past childhood, you can only ignore it for so long. If she is bothered by spirits, she needs to talk to them in love, e.g., “I love you”, “There is only love here”, “God/Jesus loves you”, and then ask the spirit/s to leave. She can also offer (at her own willingness) to help and ask what she can do for them. She can also pray to God or her angels for guidance and protection. I find these are the most effective ways to deal with unwanted spirits. On the other hand, since she has a special gift, she may want to see what she can do for these spirits.
She always sees spirits constantly day or night but she can’t hear them. They look like they are talking but she can’t hear . That’s one thing , the other she has fainted when they touch her she feels like a drain,but she gets a surge of information from them that she can’t make out clearly. Another thing she has seen people that are alive now but were never there. She saw that same person later and she had the same clothing she saw her before with . Recently we went to a casino a native American was walking and she said you see that man he has three spirits with him , that’s the first time I see that .. The man walked to us and he looked really close to her eyes twice smiled ,she said the spirits did the same thing . Can one eliminate a gift like that I don’t want her to explore more of her gift …The reason I found out she saw things is because we were at a hotel and as I was laying down I felt someone move the bed like sitting in the corner of my side I just got closer to her. The next day she said did you feel anything last night ..I was not going to say anything but yes .She said it was a man a tall man reinvest to get our attention ..then she told me about her first experience as a child on a elevator where she had a panic attack there was spirits there after that she doesn’t like getting on elevators. I would appreciate more information or some other explanation…thank you ..
